Update of Books, Goals, Work

As of late I have read an injury epidemiology book, “There Are No Accidents” by Jessie Singer, written by the friend of a cyclist-drunk driver collision in NYC 2006 on a bike path. It’s filled with lots of stories and statistics regarding unintentional yet often preventable injuries related to motorists, pedestrians, workplace, opioids, and associated accountability, financial burden, design, regulation (or lack thereof), intersectionality, etc. Also a poetry book called “Bluets” which I think is about the color blue and depression and philosophy, and an afro-scifi book [REDACTED] recommended, “Binti #1”. I finished half of “Maybe You Should Talk To Someone”, which is a best seller therapist’s memoir, before quitting that book for some reason. I am currently reading “自閉症の僕が跳びはねる理由”, a biography/Q&A of a nonverbal autistic Japanese person, and after that I have queued up “世界の再生可能エネルギと電力システム経済・政策編”, a book on renewable energy economics and policy.

My deadlift is going up, handstand is forming up, hair length is up, engineering exam is nearing and I’m begrudgingly studying up. Some photos printed, 画了几幅画,做了几个包子. Right now I’ve completed 2 items (Fufu and Baozi), and have painted 3/100 with 3 more conceptualized but awaiting ink on paper. Also a certified Pinterest user now. Hopefully will have half a dozen bucket list items complete by EOY.
[REDACTED]
Three photos I took, printed and framed for [REDACTED]. Doesn’t qualify as sale to a stranger, but closer towards that goal.

Work projects are in construction and nearing completion and commissioning. The large project is community solar so the system will inject power directly to the grid, and virtual subscribers may purchase a portion of the power. Unlike [REDACTED]’s solar program where you pay more per month to essentially subsidize the solar installations they operate, these subscribers will save money on their monthly bills with lower electricity prices compared to [REDACTED]. It will have new native tree and shrub plantings around the array and pollinators under/between. Funded by owner equity, basic incentives, and a three million dollar loan.

Going to cook some Beijinho which is a Brazilian coconut dessert recommended by my coworker. I have an eventful travel month coming up so I will be positively busy, lots of destinations, people I haven't seen in many years, my first music festival. No painting for a while, will be maximizing fun and also trying to maintain my deadlift progress somehow.

Bye
